At 53m high, Qihou Mountain is the highest point of the Qijin District, overlooking the Kaohsiung Harbor. Two City-designated historical sites, the Qihou Lighthouse and the QihouFortification, are on top of the mountain.

  • Bus:

Take the Red 9 route bus, get off at the Beacon Lighthouse Station, and walk along the Tongshan Road and its alley for about 5 minutes to reach the Qihoushan Entrance Square.

  • Ferry:

From the Gushan Ferry Station, take the ferry to the Qijin Ferry Station, follow the coastal road to the mountain road, and take a 15-minute walk to the Qihoushan Entrance Square.

  • Drive to Qihoushan:

From National Highway No. 1 south to Kaohsiung exit, take the fishing port road and turn left to Xinsheng Road and then connect to Zhongxing Road. After passing through the Gang Tunnel to Qijin 1st Road, Qijin 2nd Road and Qijin 3rd Road, you can reach Qihou Mountain. Vehicles can be parked in the parking lot next to Qijin 3rd Road. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the Qihoushan Entrance Square.

Qihou Tianhou Temple

Tianhou Temple is dedicated to Matsu and is also known as Matsu Temple to the locals. The temple has many worshippers and is Kaohsiung City's first Matsu Temple. In 1979, the government recognized it as a Class 3 Building of Historical Interest.

Cijin Seaside Park

The Cijin Seaside Park was constructed by the Kaohsiung City Government to reflect the unique geological features of Cijin District. The park has numerous walk ways criss-crossing through sections such as a bathing beach, a seascape viewing path, a cross-country area and a natural ecology area, displaying a multitude of recreational and sightseeing functions.

The Cijin Wind-power Park

The Cijin Wind-power Park is the first wind-powered recreational area in Kaohsiung City and Taiwan that combines tourism, leisure and environmental friendliness. The park has seven uniquely shaped 3-blade wind turbines, generating enough power to provide the park with four hours of illumination at night. The park has hundreds of coastal plants as well as wide expanses of lawn, so visitors can enjoy nature, have picnics or fly kites. In front of the turbines, there are also viewing platforms and a performance square where artistic events are held.
